It started with one doggie house…
then became one doggie street
then lots of streets became a whole doggie neighbourhood.
This quilt uses a charm pack and is called One Doggie Street.
I made it for my Pete. He is a dog lover and a quilt lover (by marriage).

My lovely friend Kirsty made me a beautiful red button hair pin.
I wore it to a special dinner with my Pete.
We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with the petit four platter.

On the way home from work this afternoon I saw this…
I wanted to stop and take a better photo, but my Pete likes to make good time.
I thought it was lucky when we had to stop at a red light. My Pete did not.
It just goes to show that good luck is dependent on your priorities.

The new year seems to have provided me with an injection of creative energy. Quilts I’ve been imagining really should be made, so I am going about doing just that.
My first 2012 quilt is Driving on the Avenues.
Made using a layer cake of Amelia fabric designed by Me and My Sister Designs for Moda, it measures 50 inches square.
It’s quilted heavily behind the applique, which makes the cars and trees pop.
You can check out some more photos on my Flickr stream or buy a pattern to make your own quilt from my etsy store.

We decided to eat our delicious chicken and mango rolls beside the beach.
We discovered it was a VERY blustery day.
“Look out!” my Pete warned us.
“It’ll blow your hair right off.”
